Responsible for providing administrative and legal support to the Chief Legal Officer on a wide range of legal issues related to the operation of primary care health clinics.


  • Perform legal research as needed.
  • Assist in drafting and revising a variety of complex contract documents including, but not limited to, professional services agreements, education affiliation agreements, vendor contracts, and health care provider employment agreements.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, contracts, and other documents.
  • Assist in drafting and revising policies and procedures.
  • Assist in drafting and revising documents for the Board of Directors and Board Committees.
  • Assist in the management of litigation and claims and coordinate with outside counsel in representing the organization in matters of discovery, alternative dispute resolution and hearings in courts and administrative agencies.
  • Assist in the review of records requests, including both medical records and public information requests.
  • Assist with the preparation of correspondence, pleadings, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with filing and serving pleadings via electronic filing and regular filing.
  • Assist with filing, production and organization of documents, research materials, contracts, and discovery items.
  • Maintain the CLO’s calendar, including scheduling meetings and appointments as well as assisting with the preparation for events, travel, and meetings.
  • Establish and ensure favorable relationships throughout the organization.
  • Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent CommUnityCare in a highly professional manner at all times.
  • Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all company policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology.
  • Knowledge of legal communication principles and practices.
  • High level of skill at building relationships and providing excellent customer service.
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.


MINIMUM EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  Five (5) years of previous paralegal experience in healthcare or health-law field.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  Ten (10) or more years of previous paralegal experience in healthcare or health-law field.


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:  Paralegal certification or preferred experience in lieu of certification.
