Overview

The Imaging Program Manager oversees the quality, administrative, and strategic expansion of Radiology, Mammography, and Sonography departments in coordination with operations. The role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of diagnostic imaging, overseeing program necessities for a multidisciplinary team of technologists, and maintaining “survey-ready” compliance with state, federal, MQSA, and other relevant regulatory agencies. The role is responsible for driving the program’s growth strategy across locations while maintaining a unified standard of care. The position serves as the primary liaison between radiologists, referring physicians, and executive leadership to optimize patient throughput and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Network Standardization: Develop and implement “Universal Operating Procedures” across all locations to ensure a consistent patient experience and clinical quality.
    Partner with executive leadership to identify new imaging center locations. Lead the operational rollout for new sites, including equipment selection and workflow designs.
    Act as the Lead Quality Coordinator for MQSA. Ensure all locations maintain valid Texas Mammography Certificate through DSHS.
    Identify bottlenecks in workflows and aid operations in implementing solutions.
    Oversee all quality tasks to maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation.
    Ensure all technicians are practicing ALARA with radiation exposure.
    Maintains up to date knowledge of imaging regulatory requirements.
    Implement a centralized QA dashboard to monitor image quality and technologist performance across sites Manage staffing in coordination with operations to support volume surges, staffing gaps across sites, and compliance.
    Maintain expert-level troubleshooting skills for downtime and connectivity issues resolution coordination.
    Maintains certifications and continuing experience to meet MQSA requirements.
    Reports to Safety Committee and has ability to take on RSO role or delegate as appropriate.
    And other job functions as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of PACS, RIS, and EMR integration. 
  • Ability to balance administrative duties, continuing experience, and safety functions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the technical requirements, physics, and safety protocols for clinical modalities. 
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Reimbursement Models, Pro Forma development for new sites, and Capital Expenditure planning. 
  • Ability to lead “de-novo” facility launches, from equipment selection and room shielding design to staff recruitment and marketing. 
  • Ability to draft standardized SOPs that ensure clinical consistency across sites. 
  • Ability to pivot quickly when equipment goes down to support operations in re-routing patients and managing vendor repair priorities. 
  • Mental discipline to maintain “audit-ready” documentation for state and federal inspections.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Associates Degree (higher degree accepted) Radiologic Technology from CAHEEP or JRCERT Accredited Program

Minimum Experience:

  • 4 years Radiology/Mammography experience.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • ARRT(R) Registered Technologist in Radiography
  • ARRT(M) Certification in Mammography
  • BLS BLS Certification
