Overview

The Team Member Relations Specialist is an entry-to-intermediate role within the People Department that supports employee relations matters and workplace investigations. This role is responsible for assisting in the intake, documentation, and resolution of employee concerns while ensuring alignment with organizational policies and employment laws.


Working under the guidance of the Manager, Strategic People Partners, the Specialist helps ensure issues are addressed promptly, consistently, and with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. This role partners closely with Strategic People Partners (SPPs), Support Partners, and leaders to support effective and compliant employee relations practices.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
-Support intake of employee relations concerns, including gathering initial information and documentation.
-Assist in conducting workplace investigations (e.g., interviews, note-taking, evidence collection) under the guidance of a Partner.
-Conduct lower-level investigations independently and assist the Team Member Relations Partner with more highlevel, complex investigations.
-Maintain accurate, timely, and well-organized case documentation.
-Ensure confidentiality and professionalism throughout all employee interactions.
-Partner with Strategic People Partners (SPPs) and leaders to provide updates and coordinate next steps.
-Assist in drafting investigation summaries, findings, and recommendations for review by a Partner.
-Help guide leaders on basic employee relations practices and policy application.
-Support administration and documentation of corrective actions.
-Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures in day-to-day interactions.
-Identify recurring issues and escalate to the Team Member Relations Partner for broader review.
-Support development and maintenance of ER tools, templates, and documentation.
-Participate in training and development to build investigative and employee relations expertise.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

-Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Human Resources, Business Administration (OR 5 years of related experience in lieu of degree)

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

-2 years of experience in HR, employee relations, or related field

-Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR practices

-Strong organizational and documentation skills

-Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

-Experience in healthcare, public sector, or similarly regulated environments

-Experience working within a Strategic People Partner (HRBP) model
