Pediatric Physical Therapist who evaluates and treats patients, birth through 21 years of age, in an outpatient nonprofit pediatric clinical setting, by provision of both in person and teletherapy services for a variety of motor deficits, neurodevelopmental delays, neuromuscular and orthopedic impairments

Essential Duties (at least 5 that are non‐negotiable duties and are absolutely pertinent to successfully completing the job without accommodations):

• Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations for pediatric patients evaluating mobility, strength,
  current level of patient function and more while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient
  abilities according to industry standards and evidence based practice.
• Develop Plan of Care for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short and long term
  goals, models of practice, collaboration with of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver
  involvement.
• Implement Plan of Care through direct treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan
  according to patient progress.
• Document patient progress according to approved medical documentation standards.
• Report patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, facility staff and healthcare professionals
  involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients.
• Recommend an appropriate discharge plan for patients following completion of their Plan of Treatment.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops; reviewing professional
  publications, etc.
• Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly and effective
  environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy.
• Develop and maintain favorable internal relationships, partnerships with co‐workers, including clinical managers,
  clinical support staff, providers and business office staff.
• Collaborate and maintain cooperative working relationships with all members of the care team in providing
  patient‐centered care.
• Interact respectfully and collaboratively with patients and their families, striving to develop favorable
  relationships with families.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of neurological and musculoskeletal diseases.
• Knowledge of rehabilitative treatment techniques as utilized by the generalist in treating multiple
  age groups.
• Knowledge of orthopedic manual therapy techniques.
• Knowledge of the regulations and practice standards of Pediatric Physical Therapy.
• Knowledge of direct patient care of Physical Therapy to pediatric patients.
• Knowledge and skill of equipment and instruments used in daily activities, responsible use of such
  equipment and best practices for equipment use.
• Skill in treating Pediatric Physical Therapy patients and exercising critical thinking & clinical
  reasoning with this population.
• Skill in time management such as assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation process and requirements, as well as all federal, state
  and local regulations and standards associated with the delivery of care in a Federally Qualified
• Health Center.
• Knowledge of or experience working in a patient‐centered medical home (PCMH) environment.
• Skills in resource seeking and advocating for patients through community resources, referral sources, agencies and colleagues (OT and SLP).
• Ensure all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes and
  related duties comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission
  and CommUnityCare Standard Operating Procedures and CommUnityCare Policies and Procedures

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), unless otherwise grandfathered.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
Active and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist in the State of Texas

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR)
Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Will be required to maintain a current CPR certification during employment. Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association.
