Overview

The Front End Educator is responsible for the orientation, education, and development of identified team members across various roles within CommUnityCare. This position works collaboratively with leaders and team members across all disciplines and departments to assess current educational needs, develop training materials, and facilitate education in both classroom settings and on-site clinical locations. The instructor ensures that orientation and education records and all training documents comply with regulatory requirements.

Under the direction of the Manager of Care Model, the Front End Educator plays a key role in curriculum development, training, and ongoing assessment of new and existing team members, particularly medical administrative clerks. They ensure adherence to Gold Standard workflows established for each service line. The instructor possesses a strong understanding of the framework and strategies of team-based primary health care as practiced by high-performing organizations. They effectively communicate these principles to staff to ensure alignment with CommUnityCare’s model of care.

Responsibilities include teaching team members to ensure they acquire the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors necessary to deliver care at the highest level. They manage the classroom environment to foster a positive and engaging learning experience while providing support, tutoring, and assistance as needed.

Additionally, instructors serve as role models by demonstrating professional behaviors, language, and activities expected of care team members. They maintain a thorough understanding of all requirements and skills associated with their responsibilities.

This role is integral to the delivery of CommUnityCare’s model of care and contributes to the continuous improvement of team-based healthcare practices.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties (at least 5 that are non-negotiable duties and are absolutely pertinent to successfully completing the job without accommodations):

  • Deliver quality orientation and ongoing education to team members, and ensure all participant are actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Assist in developing, evaluating, and modifying curricula for both classroom and on-site education.
  • Manage the scheduling and delivery of education for new and existing team members.
  • Train team members to assist with closing gaps in registration documentation and coverage capture.
  • In conjunction with leaders, provide real-time interventions and on-going development to support the learning needs of team members to ensure they reach optimal performance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in identified systems as needed.
  • Utilize principles of adult teaching/learning during all training activities.
  • Provide continuous feedback and input on ways to improve curriculum for learner's comprehension to foster effective learning.
  • Promote the use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work assigned hours.
  • Participate in appropriate meetings, trainings, and committees directly affecting Care Model curriculum.
  • Ability to travel throughout Travis County and surrounding areas to support for rounding, conducting learning needs assessments, and identifying areas for improvement.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High level of skill at building relationships within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. 
  • Design training programs appropriate to the skills need, and ensure team members receive the necessary orientation and education to perform their jobs. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Enjoy working effectively in a team environment. 
  • Knowledge and experience in adult education and learning principles. 
  • Strong technical/computer skills, especially in Microsoft Suite products and EHRs. 
  • Skilled at curriculum development and process development.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (higher degree accepted)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of experience in an operations role i.e. Medical administrative clerk, Financial Screening, or HIM in a healthcare setting Required AND
  • 1 year of experience in educating or training in a formal or informal training role. i.e preceptorship, team lead role, etc Required
